IB PYP Transdisciplinary Themes

The PYP is a framework for schools and their approach to learning and teaching. Students explore significant concepts through units of inquiry. The six transdisciplinary themes that guide these units each year are broad, globally relevant ideas that connect learning across subject areas. The IB PYP Transdisciplinary Themes are Who We Are, How the World Works, Where We Are In Place and Time, Sharing the Planet, How We Organize Ourselves & How We Express Ourselves.

IB PYP Terminology - Learner Profiles

The IB learner profile consists of ten attributes that are fostered in students to develop internationally minded individuals.

The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. The learner profiles are principled, inquirer, risk-taker, reflective, balanced, communicator, open-minded, knowledgeable, caring & thinker.
